Grinds upside down and stores upright to leave no mess on the counter top or table. The ceramic grinding mechanism works on salts, peppercorns, dried spices, flax seeds, herbs and herb blends. The ceramic mechanism is fully adjustable from fine to coarse and will not dull or corrode. The base is made of glass with a plastic top.
