Sweet, buttery, and irresistibly festive, these Valentine Butter Spritz Cookies are an easy homemade cookie recipe perfect for Valentine’s Day baking, gifting to loved ones, or adding a little heart-shaped joy to your dessert table.
Made even easier with the OXO Cookie Press, these classic spritz cookies come out perfectly shaped every time, no rolling, cutting, or fuss required.

Tips for making Spritz Cookies with the OXO Cookie Press
- Use room temperature butter for the cookie recipe. Butter must be soft enough to cream yet firm enough to hold its shape.
- Do not over mix. Over-working the flour will make for tougher cookies.
- Place baking sheets in the freezer while you make the dough. The dough will release from the cookie press onto the cold baking sheet better. Do not use parchment paper or silicone liners. The dough must stick to the metal.
- Hold the press perpendicular to the baking sheet when pressing the dough.
- The first couple of cookies will be imperfect. This is normal. You can just scrape them back into the bowl of dough and keep going until you get into a rhythm.
